Walz’s Budget Announcement is the Correct Step Forward Wednesday, January 26, 2022 – Legalization of adult-use cannabis is long overdue in Minnesota, and we commend and thank Governor Walz for his commitment to ending our state’s failed policy of cannabis prohibition. Minnesotans deserve better than the failure of prohibition, and we look forward to working with Governor Walz’s administration and our legislators to create a regulated and equitable legal cannabis industry that prioritizes local economic development, generates tax revenue that ensures the safety of our communities, expunges the records of those whose lives have been devastated by minor cannabis convictions, and allows our public safety and criminal justice systems to focus on violent crime and criminals.
